I visited Dad last night at OHSU. He looked good and remained fully lucid the entirety of my visit, which clocked in at just under 3 hours. Early in the day as part of physical therapy he walked with help to the sink across the room and back. Said it was utterly exhausting work, but obviously it’s great that he’s starting to get up and around.

We met Dr. Brett Sheppard while I was there. He’s the surgeon who worked on Dad, and neither Dad nor I could be effusive enough with our praise. Dr. Sheppard deflected most of our gratitude to his co-workers and team members, which of course just increased our estimation of him.

If all continues apace, Dad will likely be released to a physical therapy/care facility some time next week. Dad has a lot of rehab work ahead, but things continue to look good.
