Post game comments: I thought Brazil looked sharper than in their first outing. My expectations—and maybe that of most people-are so high that if they don’t set the world on fire, we’re disappointed. I’m disappointed. Not that Australia is a pushover, but they’re no world power either.
Ronaldo had a better game which was hard not to do. Aussies were perhaps a little unlucky to give up the second goal late, playing as well as they did. Second round for them comes down to the next game against Croatia where a draw should be good enough to move on. (That assumes Brazil beats Japan, which seems likely despite their less than stellar play.)
