I support the desire of people to be called what they want, which is why names exist. As long as your chosen name is inoffensive, I may think you weird, but Iâ€™m going to use it.
I am not at all on board with an individualâ€™s interpretation of personal pronouns. I am open to the argument that a hermaphrodite might want and deserve to use something other than he or she. If a pronoun like ze referred to a specific gender typeâ€”if it added clarity to langauageâ€”I could get onboard.
Beyond that, I havenâ€™t the time or interest to participate is someoneâ€™s fanciful destruction of the English language. Wiping out the utility of pronouns makes it harder to communicate and god knows we have enough trouble with that already.
