I recently had the opportunity to ride in an electric GMC Sierra EV Denali. It is a very large vehicle albeit with some cool features. I liked the cameras, the range (~460 miles), and the screens. There’s plenty of space and the interior is cushy.

On the downside, SuperCruise (GMC’s version of Autopilot is limited to “compatible roads” (whatever that means), there’s no Apple CarPlay, and the whole thing costs around $100k. It’s a lot nicer inside than a Cybertruck would be, but the Cybertruck is also $82k after the federal rebate. Potentially only $75k for buyers eligible for the Oregon EV rebates.

Is the Denali worth $25k more? I dunno about that. To fair, I’m not in the target market for either of these vehicles. I just enjoy making the comparison.

[As a side note, the driver of the Denali actually owns a Rivian which was in the shop for repairs. The Denali was the loaner. The biggest downside I’ve heard about Rivians? Quality control and reliability are problematic. Otherwise—and that’s a pretty big caveat in my book–owners seem to love them.]
